Greenfields Garden
This private garden is situated in the lower Wye Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The garden was designed and is meticulously maintained by Jackie Healy.
Greenfields Garden is a 1.5 acre, plant persons' gem of a garden set on the Gloucestershire side of the beautiful lower Wye Valley ANOB (mid-way between Chepstow and Monmouth).
The garden has many mature trees and numerous unusual plants and shrubs, all carefully planted to create discrete gardens within a garden.
Greenfields is the passion and work of 'head gardener' Jackie Healy who has combined a long interest in design, and the propagation of plants alongside a strong interest in the forms, colours and scents of plants to create a living, sculptural composition.
Greenfields continues to support the NGS and is opening, by arrangement, in 2025.

About Greenfields
Greenfields is a 1.5-acre, plant person's gem of a garden set on the Gloucestershire side of the beautiful Wye Valley. The garden has many mature trees and numerous rare plants and shrubs, all carefully planted to create discrete gardens within a garden. It is the passion and work of 'head gardener' Jackie Healy, who has combined a long interest in the propagation of plants alongside a strong interest in the forms, colours, and scents of plants to create a living, sculptural composition.
Jackie designed the gardens with all seasons interest in mind, with different areas being a joy to experience throughout the year.

Directions from Monmouth on the A466
- Leave Monmouth on the A466 heading towards Chepstow*
- Go through the village of Llandogo and continue heading in the direction of Chepstow
- When you see the signpost for Brockeir, turn LEFT
- Go over Brockweir Bridge, and continue going up Mill Hill
- After 0.3 miles, turn left into Coldharbour Lane
- Continue on Coldharbour Lane for 0.5 miles until the road forks just before the telephone box
- Take the left-hand fork
- Continue for 200 yards, Greenfields is the first gate on the right (opposite the entrance for Wye Valley Barns, and Hill Farm House)
Directions from Chepstow on the A466
- Leave Chepstow on the A466 heading towards Monmouth
- Go through Tintern and continue heading for Monmouth
- After you have gone passed the Old Station, Tintern, look out for a **signpost ** to Brockweir
- Turn RIGHT at the signpost for Brockweir
- Go over Brockweir Bridge, and continue straight going up Mill Hill
- After 0.3 miles, turn left into Coldharbour Lane
- Continue on Coldharbour Lane for 0.5 miles until the road forks just before the telephone box
- Take the left-hand fork (just before the telphone box)
- Continue for 200 yards, Greenfields is the first gate on the right (opposite the entrance for Wye Valley Barns, and Hill Farm House)
Directions from Coleford on the B4228
- Leave Coleford on the B4228 heading towards Chepstow
- Continue on the B4228 for approx. 8.5 miles
- Go through St Briavels
- Turn RIGHT at Hewelsfield Crossroads (signposted for Brockweir - see map below)
- Follow the road downhill into Brockweir
- Turn RIGHT into Merricks Lane (just before Pinewood Studios)
- Follow Merricks Lane to an unmarked cross roads, turn RIGHT into Coldhardbour Lane
- Continue up-hill on Coldharbour Lane until the road forks just before the telephone box
- Take the left-hand fork
- Continue for 200 yards, Greenfields is the first gate on the right (opposite the entrance for Wye Valley Barns, and Hill Farm House)
Introducing the Gardens
Greenfields is laid-out as a series of 'gardens within a garden'. The design and planting of the gardens provides all-year-round interest as different areas come to the fore at different stages in the year.

This garden consists of many Japanese Maples (Acers) planted around a pagoda tea house

This garden is extensively planted with Rhododendrons and Camellias.

A delightful area of the garden in which to enjoy refreshments whilst listening to the babbling stream.

Situated at the north-east border of the property, along the banks of the stream and under the shade of mature trees.
